Sri Anandpur Sahib, August 24: Extending greetings to the entire sangat on the occasion of the first Parkash Purab of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that a Heritage Street will be developed in the birthplace of Khalsa, Sri Anandpur Sahib, at a cost of 25 crore. Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann, will soon launch the first phase of this project.
Providing further details, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that under this project, which will be executed with an outlay of 25 crore, the pathway from the main road to Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib will be beautified with marble flooring and illuminated with attractive lights. Additionally, beautification and infrastructural enhancement works will be carried out around the Guru’s abode. He further informed that the Heritage Street area will be made traffic-free so that devotees can reach Takht Sahib conveniently on foot without congestion.
The Minister stated that it has been a long-standing demand of city residents and Sikhs across the world to establish a Heritage Street at the sacred land of Sri Anandpur Sahib, sanctified by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, and now this demand is set to be fulfilled. He added that in November, the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Hind Di Chadar, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, will be commemorated at Sri Anandpur Sahib, for which the Punjab Government is making large-scale preparations. Ahead of these commemorations, the city will be cleaned and beautified, and all necessary arrangements will be ensured so that devotees from across the globe do not face any inconvenience.
He also mentioned that various markets of Sri Anandpur Sahib will be beautified with uniform signage boards and a new identity will be given to them, which will also promote tourism. The Minister informed that the tender for this project has already been finalized. With this development plan, the beauty around Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib will be further enhanced, providing devotees with a more convenient and welcoming environment.
