Health Department Rupnagar organizes training camp during CPR week

Rupnagar, October 15: A special training session was organized today by the Health Department Rupnagar while celebrating “CPR Week” from October 13 to 17. The objective of this program was to provide information and basic education to the general public and health workers about the CPR technique that saves lives immediately in case of cardiac arrest.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh presided over the program and said that CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) is such an essential technique that helps in saving the life of a person when his breathing or heartbeat stops. He said that if CPR is given by any person on time, the risk of death can be reduced.

Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh said that CPR The main objective of the week is to connect people with life-saving techniques and prepare everyone for emergency situations. During this week, these training programs will also be organized in district hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, group health centers and urban primary health centers.
On this occasion, Anaesthesia Dr. Sanjeev Jindal and Medical Officer Dr. Ruchi Raina gave detailed information about the process of CPR and conducted a practical demonstration. They said that there are three main parts of CPR – “Chest Compression”, “Opening the Airway” and “Breathing”, which can be practiced in the right sequence to save the life of any person.
During the session, doctors, medical staff and nursing students of the health department participated and practiced the techniques. The participants described this training as very beneficial and said that such programs develop the ability to act confidently in emergency situations.

Senior Medical Officer Civil Hospital Rupnagar Dr. Simranjit Kaur said that the District Health Department will continue to collaborate with schools, colleges, government offices and public service institutions for training in these life-saving techniques in the future. She appealed to the people that wherever someone’s heartbeat stops in an emergency, they should not hesitate to give CPR immediately.
At the end of the session, the participants took a pledge to save lives.
On this occasion, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Bobby Gulati, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anjali Chaudhary, District Epidemiologist Dr. Harleen Kaur, Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ritu, BCC Coordinator Sukhjit Kamboj were present.
