Health Department imparts CPR training to 350 people to save lives

Kiratpur Sahib, October 19 : As per the orders of Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh, Civil Surgeon, Rupnagar, the team of the Primary Health Center of Kiratpur Sahib imparted CPR training to about 350 people to save lives if needed.
Senior Medical Officer Ind. Dr. Jangjit Singh said that during the week-long CPR awareness campaign, the team of Block Kiratpur Sahib, along with imparting CPR training to the people, made them aware about the life-saving procedure CPR through various activities including quizzes, poster making and oath taking and also made them aware of the method of giving CPR by giving a demo.
He said that this campaign was mainly focused on making at least one person in every home, school, office and public place capable of giving life-saving CPR so that heart patients can be saved by giving CPR until immediate medical help is received.
Dr. Jangjit Singh said that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a life-saving and important emergency procedure which increases the chances of survival in serious heart-related cases many times. He said that during Diwali, due to bursting of firecrackers, pollution increases due to which respiratory and heart patients have to face a lot of problems. He said that in such a situation, CPR training can be helpful in saving many precious lives.
To achieve this goal, about 350 people were trained in CPR by Staff Nurse Shiv Kumar at PHC Kiratpur Sahib and apart from this, the team also took an oath to learn the correct technique of this process and practice it. The Senior Medical Officer said that apart from this, CPR training was also given to people by CHO at various Ayushman Arogya Kendras.
On this occasion, Block Extension Educator Ratika Oberoi, Medical Officer Dr. Mamta, Dr. Satnam Singh, SI Sikander Singh, LHV Sunita, Bhupinder Kaur, Sunita Saini, Baljit Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur, Diksha, LT Sakshi, MLT Harpreet Kaur, Multipurpose Health Workers Kulwinder Singh and Ravinder Singh, CO Bharat Kapoor and Ward Attendant Davinder Singh were present.
