District Family Welfare Officer holds urgent meeting with urban ASHA workers
Rupnagar, October 10: Under the directions of Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh, an urgent meeting of urban ASHA workers of Rupnagar was held under the chairmanship of District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anjali Chaudhary and Senior Medical Officer District Hospital Rupnagar Dr. Simranjit Kaur at SMO Office Rupnagar.
In this meeting, further improvement of health services in urban areas and making the reach of health related schemes to the people effective were discussed in detail.
Addressing the ASHA workers, Dr. Anjali Chaudhary said that ASHA workers are the most important part of the health department who go door to door to reach government health schemes to women, children and the common people. She said that due to population density in urban areas, the role of ASHA workers becomes even more important.
He asked the ASHA workers to continuously improve their performance and work as a campaign to spread awareness among the people about cleanliness, vaccination, family planning and care of pregnant women, maternal and child health care.
Dr. Chaudhary instructed that every ASHA worker should submit the monthly report of his area on time and share the challenges facing his area with the higher authorities so that they can be resolved on time.
He also said that ASHA workers should have complete knowledge about the schemes being run by the government like Ayushman Bharat, HIV Awareness, TB Free Punjab and free testing services for pregnant women so that these services can reach the needy people effectively.
During the meeting, SMO Dr. Simranjit Kaur also informed the ASHA workers about how to plan day-to-day work and work with teamwork. He said that only with the supportive role of urban ASHA workers can the health standards of the public improve.
LHV Rajinder Kaur, Monitoring Evaluation Officer Lakhvir Singh, ANMs of urban areas and Urban ASHA workers were present on the occasion.
