Rupnagar, April 17: Dr. Raman Kumar Gupta assumed office as Civil Surgeon Rupnagar today at the District Hospital.
Dr. Raman Kumar Gupta has served as ENT Specialist at District Hospital Jalandhar, Senior Medical Officer Mamdot and District Family Welfare Officer Jalandhar and is also a member of the current Medical Council.
On assuming office, he was warmly welcomed and congratulated by the officials and employees of the Health Department.
On this occasion, Dr. Raman Kumar Gupta said that he will work with complete impartiality and honesty to provide better and quality health services to the people of Rupnagar district.
He said that his priority would be to take the health schemes and public welfare schemes being run by the government to the grassroots level so that people from all walks of life could get the benefits of these schemes.
He said that special attention will be given to ensure timely treatment of patients, availability of medicines, cleanliness and responsibility of health workers in health institutions. Apart from this, health services will be further strengthened in rural and remote areas so that people do not have to travel far for treatment.
Dr. Gupta said that the ongoing programs related to maternal and child health, vaccination, dengue and malaria prevention, TB. Control, drug de-addiction, family welfare and prevention of non-communicable diseases will be implemented more effectively. He said that awareness campaigns for public health protection will also be intensified.
He appealed to all the officers and employees of the health department to work with a team spirit and said that it is our common responsibility to provide good health services to the people. He said that people should get a respectful and convenient environment in every health institution of the district.
