Rupnagar, February 18: In order to keep the women of Rupnagar healthy, a health and employment camp was organized at Government College Rupnagar by the District Administration Rupnagar under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Aditya Dechalwal in collaboration with the Social Security and Women and Child Development Department Punjab and the District Employment and Entrepreneurship Bureau Rupnagar for women’s health, hygiene and awareness.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (V) Rupnagar Chandrajyoti Singh and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rupnagar Baljinder Singh Dhillon were the chief guests in this camp.
More than 1000 women of the district took advantage of this camp. Various departments of Rupnagar district such as Health and Family Welfare Department provided check-ups of women by the district’s expert doctors including blood pressure, sugar tests and other necessary check-ups, free anemia check-ups, bone problems, cancer screening (breast cancer, cervical cancer and oral cancer), free necessary medicines (iron, folic tablet/blue tablet). Along with this, the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme cards, which are being made by the Punjab Government with the aim of providing free health services, were also made, under which treatment up to 10 lakhs is completely free. 300 beneficiaries took advantage of this camp. Swastha Alliance conducted eye screening of about 300 beneficiaries and breast cancer screening of about 30 beneficiaries.
The Ayurvedic Department organized related activities in this camp under the CM’s Yogasala. Various schemes running under the Social Security and Women and Child Development Department like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhau’, One Stop Centre, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Posan Abhiyan, Pension, District Child Protection Unit and 181 Women Helpline and Hub for Empowerment staff set up stalls to create awareness about the schemes.
Government College Rupnagar also distributed 1000 sanitary pads to make women/girls aware about menstrual hygiene. Stalls of goods manufactured by the district level SHGSs running under them were set up and sold by the Rural Development Department.
Along with this, about 20 companies participated in the job fair organized by the District Employment Department, in which 514 children were registered, 172 candidates were selected for the job and 53 candidates were shortlisted for the job. He said that the selected candidates will get salary and other facilities based on their qualifications and experience.
District Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Officer Rupnagar S. Prabhjot Singh said that companies like Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, Cheema Boilers, Alina Auto, HDFC, TDS Management, Paytm, RS Manpower, Protalk Solutions, Ariel Telecom, Azil Herbal, Universal International, LIC Bima Sakhi and Magnifying Health Herbals Solutions Private Limited participated in this job fair and the positions of Relationship Officer, Welder, Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Machinist, CNC Operator, VMC Operator, Drill Man, Sheet Metal Operator, Helper, Assistant Manager, Meter Reader, Field Sales Executive, Senior Sales Executive, HR Admin, Accountant, Delivery Accountant, Telecaller, MIS Executive, Loan Officer, Recruitment for the posts of Wellness Advisor etc. was done.
On this occasion, District Program Officer Rupnagar Shruti Sharma, Placement Officer, District Employment and Entrepreneurship Bureau, Rupnagar Meenakshi Bedi, college staff and other senior officers and employees were present in the camp.
