Rupnagar, September 29: A meeting was held with the cluster/nodal officers appointed at the village level regarding paddy stubble and residue burning under the chairmanship of SDM Rupnagar Sanjeev Kumar.
On this occasion, in order to manage the paddy stubble residue scientifically and effectively prevent the problem of stubble burning, Rupnagar sub-division has been divided into 13 clusters and officers have been appointed for each cluster.
During this meeting, the officers were instructed that each cluster officer will supervise the nodal officers in their allotted area and will ensure that the instructions issued by the National Green Tribunal, New Delhi regarding paddy stubble burning are fully followed.
On this occasion, he said that farmers should be made more aware about SMS service and other tools so that they adopt scientific methods for stubble management. Apart from this, the cluster and nodal officers were also instructed to make every possible effort to prevent incidents of stubble burning and if anyone violates, then he should be given a message in an effective manner that the government is committed to stopping incidents of stubble burning.
