Civil Surgeon gives message for voluntary blood donation on World Blood Donor Day
Rupnagar, June 15: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Raman Gupta and Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Bobby Gulati released balloons and gave a message to the people to donate blood voluntarily. On this occasion, people were also made aware about the importance of blood donation and its benefits.
On this occasion, Dr. Raman Gupta said that blood donation is the greatest service to humanity and one unit of blood can save many precious lives. He appealed to the people to donate blood voluntarily on a regular basis.
Dr. Gupta said that blood donation is beneficial for heart health and it helps in the formation of new blood cells in the body. He said that blood donation also helps in protecting the liver, helps in burning calories, provides an opportunity for free health check-ups and also helps in achieving mental happiness and satisfaction.
He said that the age of the person donating blood should be between 18 and 65 years and the weight should be at least 45 to 50 kg. He said that the hemoglobin of the person donating blood should be normal and he should be completely healthy. He also said that he should not have donated blood in the last three months.
Dr. Bobby Gulati said that anyone can need blood at any time, so healthy individuals should come forward and donate blood. He said that blood donation not only saves the lives of others, but also has a positive impact on the health of the donor.
