Bharatgarh (Kiratpur Sahib) October 07: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched a wave of development of the state’s infrastructure. Major projects are being started continuously in Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency. The work of three bridges in Kandi area is being started at a cost of crores/road work is being started at a cost of about Rs 100 crore. Giving further momentum to this development wave, the foundation stone of a foot over bridge near Gurdwara Parivar Vichhoda Sahib in Sarsa Nangal has been laid today, the work of which will be completed soon and this bridge will be dedicated to the people.

This was revealed by S. Harjot Singh Bais, Cabinet Minister for Education and Information and Public Relations, today while laying the foundation stone of the foot over bridge to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.10 crore. He said that only those foundation stones are being laid for which development works have been approved, the tender process is complete, the work has been allotted to the contractors and the work will start immediately.
S. Bains said that the foot over bridge in Sirsa Nangal will be a big boon for the people of the area, because the residence of the people of the villages of this area is on one side of the highway while the schools, farms and other essential institutions are on the other side. Due to heavy traffic on the road, there is a risk to the safety of children and the elderly, with the construction of this foot over bridge, this problem will be eradicated from the root. He said that the repair work of the National Highway is also going on, the condition of the road from Himachal Pradesh border to Kiratpur Sahib via Nangal Sri Anandpur Sahib was pathetic and the drivers were facing a lot of difficulty.

Giving more details about the bridge, Mr. Bains said that keeping in mind the geographical location of the village in Sirsa Nangal, an international level ultra-modern foot bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2.10 crore to facilitate the people to move from one side to the other. He said that accidents are being prevented by building a service lane on the National Highway in Bharatgarh. A suspension bridge will be built at Ajoli, from where the movement of light vehicles will become easy. Mr. Bains said that these events are being organized by the people of the area, big development projects start after going through a long file process and now so many projects will start in a year, due to which this area will become number one in Punjab. We are preparing a comprehensive plan to promote religious tourism.

On this occasion, Kamikkar Singh Dadhi Halka Coordinator, Jujhar Singh Aspur Member Saini Welfare Board, Parminder Kaur Block President, Sohan Singh, Lovepreet Vicky, Mohan Singh, Guravtar Singh, Gurmail Singh, Bhajan Singh, Satnam Singh, Kesar Singh Sandhu Block President, Gurmeet Singh and a large number of dignitaries were present.
