Rupnagar, November 12: On the occasion of World Pneumonia Day, an awareness program was organized by the Health Department at Civil Hospital Rupnagar under the directions of Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh.
The program was presided over by District Immunization Officer Dr. Navroop Kaur. During the program, people were given detailed information about pneumonia and important points for its prevention were discussed.
Addressing the program, Dr. Navroop Kaur said that pneumonia is a serious disease that can spread rapidly, especially among children below the age of five and the elderly. On this occasion, Dr. Gursewak Singh, a specialist in pediatrics, told the people that the general symptoms of pneumonia include fever, cough, chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue. If these symptoms appear, one should immediately go to the nearest health center and get a medical check-up.
