Awareness Camp Organized to Promote Biodiversity Through Organic Farming and Sustainable Practices

Rupnagar, April 17: Virvanam Foundation, in collaboration with Punjab Agro, successfully organized a farmer awareness and training camp to promote sustainable and organic farming practices in Punjab.

The camp was conducted under the leadership of young environmental scientist Veer Thind. Its main objective was to encourage biodiversity-friendly agricultural practices and motivate farmers to adopt eco-friendly farming models.

A total of 25 farmers participated in the camp. They were provided detailed information on practical methods such as natural soil management, crop diversification, use of bio-inputs, and conservation of pollinators and beneficial organisms.

Experts from Punjab Agro, including Dr. Tarun Sen, Satvinder Singh Peli, and Vishwadeep Singh, offered technical guidance. They shared valuable insights on sustainable and economically viable organic farming systems with the farmers.

Local farmers participated with great enthusiasm. Gurjeet Singh Dhir, Harmanpreet Singh Gill, Davinder Singh Jhandian, Gurmel Singh, Mandeep Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Davinder Singh, and Jasvir Singh Lambardar, among others, showed a keen interest in adopting organic farming practices.

Virvanam Foundation assured that such camps will continue to be organized in the future to guide farmers towards sustainable agriculture, ensuring both agricultural growth and environmental conservation.
