Rupnagar, July 30: Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rupnagar Dr. Akshita Gupta today held a meeting with the officials of the concerned departments regarding the restoration and development of the playground of Government College Rupnagar and reviewed the work and issued necessary guidelines to immediately bring the playground back to its previous condition.
During the meeting, Dr. Akshita Gupta said that after the conclusion of the religious program, the playground of Government College Rupnagar will be developed and restored in a better condition than before. She said that the district administration is fully committed in this regard and all necessary arrangements will be ensured for the maintenance, improvement and development of the playground.
He directed the concerned officials to immediately drain the water standing in the ground due to rain so that the restoration work can be started without any delay. Along with this, the athletic track should be repaired and made usable again and the ground should be prepared for the players by planting high quality grass as before.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that after the rainy season, necessary arrangements will also be made for recharging rainwater in the field, which will improve the quality of the field along with groundwater conservation.
Dr. Akshita Gupta also directed the officials to prepare and submit a detailed estimate for the construction of a sports stadium equipped with all modern sports facilities in Government College Rupnagar so that in the future, modern level sports facilities can be provided to the players.
He said that the district administration is working with full dedication to strengthen the sports infrastructure and provide better sports facilities to the youth and every necessary step will be taken in this regard.
On this occasion, District Sports Officer Jagjivan Singh, Executive Engineer (Mining) Sandeep Mangat, Executive Engineer Punjab Pollution Control Board Vipin Kumar, Operational Officer Rupnagar Ashok Kumar, Prof. Harmandeep Kaur and Dr. Dharmendra Singh from Government College Rupnagar, Junior Engineer Raj Kumar of Public Works Department along with other officers from various departments were present.
